We asked John to make a wedding present for our nephew. As he is marrying a Canadian, John has made a 'Keepsake Box' with maple and heart of rowan to reflect the Scottish & Canadian heritage of the bride & groom. He used the wedding invitation as a template to have the top of the box painted with the design of the card and their names so that it too reflects their big day. The box is exquisite. John is a very nice person who listens, suggests and then quietly and without fuss produces stunning woodwork.

John has designed, built and installed a new kitchen, utility/larder cabinets, bathroom vanity units, a bookcase and bedroom wardrobes for our refurbished and extended Northumbrian cottage. We are delighted with every aspect of his work. John first visited site to take a comprehensive brief of our requirements and give helpful and practical advice before preparing high quality plans for our comments. Having agreed the designs he set out detailed estimates which he has worked within, despite escalating material costs. Throughout the build he has been responsive to our enquiries and changing timetables. The individual design and handmade quality of the work has made a significant contribution to the creation of our new home. We have no hesitation in recommending Otter Handmade. Finally, a special thank you to Phil for the vanity unit for our guest bathroom. It is a beautifully executed piece of furniture which has made this small bathroom special.
