        It was really great to explore such an old and interesting construction without any 'please do not touch' restrictions. Free entry to the castle + 5 return ferry-boat ride to & from the island which was facilitated by Piel Island ferries. The castle grounds are obviously routinely maintained and the area is safe however I would wonder how inclusive the experience would be for someone with accessibility requirements.

        Not a great castle for looks due to erosion although the red edging is nice. A reasonable amount of out wall remains. The main castle's interior is not really accessible. Worth the trip to the island though.
