Ongoing situation for the past 3 years now waiting for an outdoor wheelchair lift. First of all the Contractors wessex employed built the wrong lift shaft, so much so that the local council threatened me with prosecution. They were meant to put in aplanning application but it kept getting sent back by the council as either incomplete. Eventually they told me it would be outright refused. My landlord demanded they put the land back to its original form. That took up the 1st year. Then, last year, the team funding the works got a professional architect and submitted proper plans which were finally accepted. The construction works for the lift shaft started by contractors not employed by Wessex, however it appears that Wessex provided the incorrect design for the shaft. Further, Wessex lost the order, which delayed things by several months. Despite knowing the building works were not suitable, Wessex still went ahead and installed the WRONG lift. Now, here I am.... I getting any communication is like getting blood from a stone. After the lift was dismantled the building works were rectified. Wessex assured me it would be a few weeks as the new lift was 'ready to go'. Nope. Gave me a date for the beginning of November, then changed it to the end of December. Frankly, I am not holding my breath. Been housebound now for 3 years. Can't even leave the house. So so angry and upset. They leave the disabled and elderly out to dry. Relying on Council contracts which they clearly cannot fulfil in a timely manner, blaming Covid, Brexit and even Ukraine!! It's not fair and it has really messed up my mental health. I feel like a prisoner.... They managed to bring the installation date forwards, however I wasn't holding my breath for its completion. I was right not to. Apparently, someone has machined a part incorrectly and, as such, they cannot install it. No lead time, they reckon it could be the other side of 2023.Waiting to hear from the office. Just... It's not FAIR!
