Our child started attending Little Robins when he was 9 months old. On the whole we were happy for the first few months. Our concerns were first raised after the Ofsted inspection revealed the poor safeguarding and lack of DBS checks. At this point lots of staff left and there was a change in management. Following this we had issue after issue including when they fed our vegetarian toddler meat. We had some half-hearted attempts to meet and discuss with the manager, all driven by us. This was also the case when we collected our child and was told he had orange peel stuck between his bottom teeth. We looked as a member of staff held him and it was a splinter of wood! The staff showed no concern. Other issues we had were the menu, given cheese spread sandwiches and cheese spread with pasta, bread for lunch and dinner maybe this was just the vegetarian option. It is supposed a montesorri nursery but there are battery toys to 'entertain' the kids, learning seems low priority. Also the daily reports couldnt be relied on, we really had no idea what our son had been doing every dat. Some staff are good hence our reluctance to leave and our toddler was bonded with some of the other children but a lot of the staff have since left. In the end the main reason we decided to leave was the way our concerns were handled by management with no communication or seeming willingness to make the necessary improvements. It was our first Nursery for our child and so felt bonded to Little Robins but we have since moved nursery and now know how poor Little Robins is.
