Halfords Autocentre Romford

I wholeheartedly recommend Perry, Peter and the rest of the team enough, I've used them a couple times for general repairs, servicing and MOT - the service each time has been phenomenal! Unfortunately today, my car's ancillary belt was tearing and they got it looked at and replaced within an hour! I cannot thank them enough, I'll definitely be going there for all future needs. I paid for a brake fluid change and it wasn't completed properly as the brakes were still spongy. I am certain they did not bleed the individual calipers, just topped up the brake fluid. I took the car back and informed the manager that they were still spongy. I stood and watched them perform a manual brake bleed and witnessed how each caliper bleed nipple was difficult to open (hadn't been opened in a long time). Unbelievably the staff member just bled them freely onto the wheels and not in a container. They also left brake fluid stained hand prints on my front wing and did not put the under bonnet plastic cover back on correctly. I left after the brake bleeding was completed correctly and the sponginess was gone. I had to get the car washed immediately. Also I overheard staff use rude language about customers after phone calls. Another important note, the customer parking is unsafe and very crowded. Although I had no damage to my bodywork, I can see how this place is high risk for damage to customer cars. I will not be returning to this branch and nor will I be using any of Halfords autocentres again. Service: Brakes

The engine light come in my car and the car was shaking. So I called Halfords Romford Autocentre and I took the car in on 18th March 2023. I paid for a full diagnostic. Matt the assistant manager called me and said I 4 x new ignition coil and 4 x new spark plugs. He also said I need 2 new front break pads and disk x 2 even though I didnt feel there were any problems with the breaks. I paid 1185 for the service and collected the car the next day. The following day the car did the exact same thing and the engine light come straight back on. I took the car back to Halfords and they done another diagnostic on the car and turns out the problem was an electrical fault with the engine and the engineer said he didn't have time the first time around to check it because his boss only gave him an hour to work on it. He then informed me he is unable to fix it because its an electrical problem and Haflords dont provide that service and told me i need to go to the main dealer. They clearly didn't do a full diagnostic on the car first time round and I'm now without a car until I can get it booked in with the main dealer Ford to fix the problem and Ive also got to still pay Ford to fix the issue. I'm disgusted with the way I've been treated by this branch. I feel like I've been absolutely conned and lied too. I paid out a lot of money. Very dishonest people and I want my money back in full because they're in breach of contract. They shouldve never done any work on the car knowing they couldn't fix the problem. I expect Halfords to refund me in full and I have raised my concerns to Halford Customer Service Team. Services: Brakes, Engine repair, Brake service & repair
