From the main road, it is a short drive to the (very small) car park. From there, you need to walk back to the reception desk to pay the entrance fee (6.80 each online, or you can pay 8.50 on the day). The castle site is on different stoney levels, so every care is needed not to trip up. No good for those in a wheelchair, or pushing a pram. There isn't much left of the original building, but still managed to take some nice photo's. There is also a Chapel, and toilets near The Priest House. However, there is no restaurant or cafe, just ice cream and sweets from the very small gift shop. The outside has seating area, with about 3 or 4 picnic tables.
