Border Forest Holiday Park

Visited in a Motorhome. Lots of walking nearby to this dog friendly site, a small river runs at the back of the site with pitches backing on to it. A really decent sized dog exercise paddock area. At the time of writing this, much of the Forest adjacent to the site has been felled as it's obviously a managed working wood producing forest rather than natural woodland. Sad to see, but it will grow back in time. There is a large area of scrub ground with dead tree stumps, heavy machinery and chainsaws. There are signs of replanting and some new growth is evident. That said, there are remaining forested areas with great views over a waterfall nearby (a short walk along the Pennine way). Back to the site - the showers are functional and hot, but quite dated and tired looking. There's an elsan point, fresh water, power hookup and grey drainage (which is sometimes slow to drain away). The pitches are hard standing and level with a decent length to them but quite narrow and you are quite near to all your neighbours pitches. The site owner is a decent chap who takes the time and care to keep everything working.
