Staff here are quite possibly the most unhelpful people ive ever come across, due to the traffic in rochester i arrived with very little time before my train and asked if i could be let through and purchase my ticket on train line or from a ticket inspector on the train (something which every other station allows). Instead, the old woman and man working at the gate switched on their body cams and proceeded to say that i would be issued with a 100 fine. I ended up missing my train which did not have another scheduled for an hour, as i opted to buy a ticket from the desk (which i intended to do anyway). Whilst waiting at the ticket desk i overheard said man and woman loudly slating me for simply asking a question, stating how ridiculous I was among other hurtful things. As a young girl travelling on my own I was made to feel extremely uncomfortable by their unprofessionalism. I dont usually travel on my own and ive been put off from doing so in the future by two individuals who are literally paid to assist transport users. Avoid this station and its frankly miserable staff!
