We came to Mannerist for a quiet meal with a few people who travelled to our wedding, and whom we dont see as much as we would like. The party was quite large with six adults and two children; we had booked in advance to ensure there would be space. Mannerist offered us the choice of two booths or the option to put tables together; we decided on the latter to allow a better flow of conversation between guests, which staff were more than happy to set up for us. The service was outstanding; all of the staff were very attentive and made sure we were comfortable. We were greeted by, presumably, the business owner who was gratuitous and accommodating to our needs. Our serving staff held a pleasant demeanour and nothing was too much trouble. The service felt very professional but also intimate; the fact we were the only guests there at that time meant we had a very personal service. Though I do imagine that it is busier when it isnt 1.30pm on a Sunday. The food and drinks were delicious; our party ordered everything from the pizza, to lasagne and pasta dishes, washed down with fruit juice, Corona or fizzy drinks. All of our meals were well presented, and all were devoured with great enthusiasm. Our very fussy children were more than happy with their pizza and pasta, eating more at Mannerist than I can ever manage to get them to eat at home. The relaxing atmosphere of the establishment was rivalled only by its beautiful decor; everything from the pictures adorning the walls to the chairs and tables have obviously been carefully selected to match the establishments tone. The music played was appropriate and beautifully curated to anticipate any natural lull in conversation. If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Rochdale that doesnt serve the usual fare of fish and chips or curry and rice, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. I think this will become a firm favourite with our family and friends.
