        Ancient Stocks, once used for corporal punishment people's feet were fixed into the stocks for a period of time allotted by a judge. Whilst in there, you would be abused and publically humiliated as punishment. A very nice and fascinating Church and graveyard are the surroundings for the stocks but I believe they were originally situated in another part of Rochdales town centre area.
