Avoid at all costs - no option to award 0 stars. Ordered and received 20 way consumer unit from "Expert" Electrical on 26 April. Unable to complete the job it was bought for until 10 days ago due to heavy workload. I removed the client's consumer unit and made preparations to install the 20 Way board. Upon opening the box I immediately found a handwritten post-it-note saying "No Buz-Bar Pack", and sure enough there was no pack included. I was not, therefore, able to complete the installation, and being a Saturday was told no replacement would be dispatched before Monday, with a Tuesday delivery at best, meaning I would have to schedule Wednesday for the installation. My clients were now potentially without power for 4 days. I offered to install a temporary smaller board with key circuits energised, but understandably they were irate and wanted to book a hotel until the full installation was complete, with the intention of sending me the bill for their stay. This has caused serious damage to my company's reputation with them and anyone they choose to relate the story too. We always check deliveries against the original order when received, but I do not think it reasonable to expect to have to open every box and check that every item within each consumer unit has been correctly supplied. I can only assume that this post-it-note was written by one of their employees, or by a previous customer who returned the item. Either way it is totally unacceptable that the item was sent out. I requested another board be dispatched at the first opportunity via next day delivery at no further cost, and I also requested to receive a phone call from someone in a senior management position to explain how this had happened and to offer assurances that this could not happen again if I were to order from them in the future. No telephone call was received. The best they could muster was an email saying "Sorry for the inconvenience". The board was sent (I am told) on Monday but did not arrive until Wednesday (in the meantime I ordred other materials from other companies on the Monday and these arrived via DPD on the Tuesday - so not I believe an issue with DPD). As a result I could not begin fitting the board until well into Wednesday and had to work into the early hours of Thursday to complete the job. Appalling customer service / quality control - I will not be using this company again, will be relating the facts of this episode to all my contacts, and would urge you to avoid this company at all costs. If I treated my customers with this contempt I would very soon be out of business.
