Penthouse Carpets Ltd

We re-carpeted our whole 3 bedroom flat with the Crofter carpet in July 2022 and it is now February 2023 and it is still shedding vast amounts of fibres every time it is hoovered. The hoover keeps clogging with the fluff and needs to be emptied multiple times when hoovering each room. At this rate I cant see the carpet lasting the 14 years that its predecessor did.

Poor quality control and customer service. We paid for top of the range but got high tufts and "pipe reversal" so it looks like a massive water stain. Apparently pile reversal is tough luck, one of those things blah blah but there no reference to pile reversal on web site and no come back so stuck with what we have. Customer service takes ages to react, Sales Director has no control of his resellers and hides behind "phenomenon" that is pile reversal and MD passes the buck.

Got their Esprit Nouveau throughout the house at a cost of 5k. Son nicked over some water and we dabbed it up which caused the carpet to lighten and go fluffy. I contracted them and got an email confirming that shouldnt happen. They sent round an independent inspector and we redid the dabbing with water on an off-cut showing the same thing happen. He wrote a report saying he confirmed the issue but it isnt a manufacturing defect because it happened due to localised conditions. Therefore penthouse take no responsibility, despite having confirmed we should be able to dab up water without damage. So they will only consider obvious defects such as loose backing etc, but wont consider the fact maybe theres a problem with their dying process or twisting process.

My carpet was laid down 6 weeks ago the smell is horrendous i have to keep all doors and windows open at all times my Asthma is very bad also i have not felt well since it was put down.Tracking also very bad .Shedding like other reviews is terrible the carpet wont last long .Approached the company they dont want to know not a good company in my opinion never ever buy off this company again. The response i had on here was wrong.If you looked there are emails to your company explaining the problems i been having your company did not want to know.I did my review after your response please get your facts straight before responding to my review . By the way update over 2 months since carpet fitted people still say when they come to my home they can smell a chemical smell . 10 weeks after complaint Inspector been no testing done but this is a HEALTH issue. Since laid health problems Latest update i am having this carpet taken up at my own Expense and having new floor laid down at my own Expense it as been down 4 months health comes first.This company works against you not with you.BE WARY . Question carpet triggering asthma Competence of inspector to give opinion on what is a health matter - no expertise on asthma and its environmental triggers Only laboratory analysis can determine what carpet is releasing into the air but that has not been done In the absence of objective analysis of carpet it is not possible to determine what is happening Your company as not had carpet analysis so can you please give me the name of the labs you use i will pay for analysis to be done.Company not talking to me anymore is that the sign of a good company of course not. There is a lot more to say this company wont answer any emails from me what does that tell you it is not finished PENTHOUSE CARPETS.
