My experience on the Leaner & Stronger programme with James has been invaluable! I joined in order to tone up & get fitter, having been a member of the gym for many years there were areas of it I dare not tread due to nerves or not knowing how. James is so knowledgeable & encouraging, he filled me with confidence, helped me build strength I didnt know I had and advised me on where I was going wrong nutritionally. After the 12 week programme I have lost nearly 2 inches off my waist, feel comfortable in my body & no longer feel nervous using equipment at the gym. I highly recommend James as trainer and will be calling on his services again when Im ready to take my fitness to the next level!

If anyone is thinking about 1:1 or group training to get themselves fit, they should seriously consider James Richardson Fitness. Being in my mid- fifties and barely having used a gym, or had any prior fitness coaching, I was somewhat reluctant to start. But due to the pandemic and seeing elderly people in my family deteriorate, I learned the best safeguard against disease was being fit, so I finally signed up with James Richardson and am glad I did. James has an amazing wealth of knowledge which he imparts piecemeal so you don't get overwhelmed. Rather then give me directives and expect me to remember and follow everything he said, he personally showed me what to do and we practically did the exercises together. Another thing that impressed me was his ability to observe and assess my strengths and weaknesses accurately. He asked me to lift a 40kg weight which I thought was impossible, but he showed me how to do it, and guided me me while lifting, and I ended up lifting it! On another occasion he asked me to do a certain number of press-ups and I managed exactly that number and no more! So far I've only mentioned the physical side, but James says that "behind every physical action there is a mental action" and he teaches you how to think about your body and how to change your mindset to get your body to do what you want it to do. I'm sure if he wanted to, James could offer separate sessions on "mind coaching"! For those of you who want to go deeper James' website covers other aspects of health like nutrition coaching, and there are other features that help monitor your progress. So if you're like me and want to get fit with a down-to-earth and knowledgeable instructor who helps and guides you all the way then give James Richardson a call.

I completed my 6 week program with James and immediately signed up for more sessions to carry on making the progress I had made in the first 6 weeks alone. When I first started I had no idea how to do any strength training whatsoever, I believed cardio was the only way to loose fat and look toned. However after my first chat with James he helped me understand how important it was for me to focus on being stronger in order to achieve my idea body goals. I never thought I could be one of those gym girls but I can happily admit that since finishing the program I now enjoy showing up to my strength sessions. Being on the program not only helped me to do an exercise correctly but also made me feel accountable to show up for every session. This allowed me to have a routine which Im still able to stick to even after finishing the program. James not only helped me feel confident in the gym but was also super understanding when certain exercises didnt make any sense at the beginning. Starting the program has been the best decision I made for myself. I look forward to continue everything Ive learnt from James and carry on being stronger and leaner :)

I have been getting personal training sessions for many months with James and I have gotten noticeably stronger and leaner! As well as achieving my goals, I have learnt so much to take with me outside of the sessions and apply in the gym myself! James does a great job to tailor the session according to likes and dislikes ( I have my fair share of dislikes!) in a way that will still have the same benefits and results. And the sessions are super fun :) highly recommend to anyone!
