I do not intend to write either a positive or negative review but only to say that I have tried so hard to contact you via phone/voicemail and by email BUT no response so I am hoping this review will warrant an answer please. You kindly visited our house and diagnosed the issue to which I paid the call-out fee on the day. We had great communication between 16 & 27 Feb 23 at which point you said it was your hope to get scaffolding up and carry out the work in about 2 weeks time. Sadly, this was the last time that I heard from you and was actually concerned that you may have fallen ill or something. Please, please get in touch in order to get the solar panel issue resolved.

Last month (September 2020) our 6 year old inverter decided to leave this mortal coil. Our original installer had gone to the wall some years ago so I was at a loss of who to turn to. A quick Google returned In Balance Energy with excellent reviews and a local office. I was quickly dealt with and put through to Glen who arranged a next day visit. During the visit Glen diagnosed the issue, gave a quotation and offered to fit a new inverter inside 3 days! The job was completed quickly, Glen clearly knows his stuff, and all packaging and the old inverter taken away. Very glad to have come across this company who can look after any of my PV needs.

I always give people the benefit of the doubt. To be fair Glenn came over to sort out my panels very promptly. Spent an hour our so trying to assess the problem, then decided he needed to come back. I should have known something was wrong when he wanted payment (165 call out fee) very quickly, and not add it to the final bill. I promptly paid him and despite various attempts to book him to come back he has ignored my attempts. I don't mind if he didn't want, or couldn't, do the work, but it would have been nice to know. He also walked off with my tape measure! I look forward to hearing his explanation of this, as I have not been able to get a reply any other way! B. In reponse to your response: you accept my main grievance, which was that you should have had the decency to let me know that you had no intention of doing the work. I wasted a lot of time and effort trying to contact you and you didn't possess the common courtesy of replying. I am a little confused by your reply though: 1. You did not diagnose the fault. In fact you said quite explicitly that until you get up on a scaffold, you won't be sure about the exact cause. Your diagnosis, that one of the strings had a break in connection was blatantly obvious once we had ruled out the inverter- which we did on the phone. 2. Other than this, your first paragraph adds nothing to my review. I never said we did not agree the callout fee, my point was that you were very fast to send out the invoice and chase up for payment. It seemed your ability to communicate was not lacking then. 3. You contacted me that night (I can send you the email) to say you had found a local supplier who could provide the scaffold and you wanted to know the measurements of the gap between the walls. If you had no intention of bidding for the work, why did you say that? Moreover, I have an email which says you were waiting to hear from my tenant, to organise the date for the repair. You also gave me a couple of dates when you may be able to fit in the work. So I am at a loss to know why you say "we weren't going to provide a quote for this work". 4. With regard to the tape measure: I never said you were a thief; I said you "walked off with my tape measure". To be a thief you would have done this intentionally. To 'walk off with something' implies carelessness, which I hope is correct. To be fair I did, jokingly, point out to you in my reply to your email which asked for dimensions of the path and distance from the wall, when you were "not planning to bid for the work" (apparently) that you had taken my ruler. You never said then you had not taken it?! If I thought you had stolen it, trust me I would have called that out. I prefer to think the best of people. So sorry I will not be updating my review. 5. You say mine is the only negative review. I am sure you know that actually people often only write reviews when they are positive, especially when they have formed some sort of relationship with the service provider. Unfortunately, people are less likely to write negative reviews or be honest , than when they are anonymous- as in Amazon reviews for example. I take no pride in writing you a negative, but truthful review.
