Trent Valley Gliding Club

I wanted to organise a trial flight for my partner's 40th birthday at the end of January. Club secretary Wayne was very helpful in explaining that it was not the best time of year for gliding but we could try! On the day, the weather was favourable and we headed down to the airfield with our fingers crossed. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful, and kindly made space in the schedule for my partner to have a flight soon after we arrived. She loved it! Special thanks to Dave for bringing her back down to ground safely so that I could propose to her that evening :-)

Took my 16 year old son along on Wednesday for his Mile High Flight experience. What a fabulous bunch of enthusiastic people this club is run by . Simon his instructor was excellent and the rest of the men who were there were friendly and informative. My son got to try his hand at flying the glider in beautiful clear skies and he loved it. We'll be back for my daughter's turn next and then mine . I can see why this could become an addictive hobby!

Booked experience online, easy enough, arrived on site everyone very friendly, talked about all the equipment and safety. My flight instructor was very good, Barry went through all the aspects of the glider then set me up, as I am tall it was a little cramped but comfortable enough. Took a winched flight for about an hour, had great weather and wonderful views, took control of the glider a couple of times which was fun. Well worth the price.
