Rang twice, first time to get advice and a man answered who was very abrupt and dismissive, the second time i rang for help, a woman answered who was immediately rude and combative, talked over me saying they weren't open but would still try to help only to continue talking over me in an aggressive tones and telling us to call back again as this line was for emergency, no help whatsoever, had much better help from dogs trust

I rang up this rescue centre hoping to get some advice about a border collie we had that needed rehousing. I am 81 and not in the best of health and my husband us nearly 80. The women who answered the phone was extremely verbally aggressive to me and talked over me. I was so upset when I put the phone down I cried. I tried to explain to her that we had made a terrible mistake paying 500 for the dog but the money was not the a problem but trying to find a new home where he would be happier was. My husband and myself was told that he was a failed sheep dog by a man who said he was the dog trainer and who had been given the task of training him to herd sheep. He said and that the dog had been socialised, was good with other animals (we have another rescue border collie and two cats) house trained and was microchipped and good with people. We came all the way home from Wales with high expectations that he would settle in. However as soon as we got home it was clear he was terrified of everything and everyone and too frightened to come into the house. He is not aggressive at all and in some respects has come on in the six months he has been with us although he still opens his bowels and urinates in the house despite being let out in our large enclosed garden. We are experienced border collie owners and have had dogs who have had had problems that we have overcome with patience. Charlie was two years old in January. I did try and tell her that in our Will our house and contents which includes any of our living animals are being left to my son and his wife. Both are animal lovers. I told her we had a dog behaviouralist who was helping with Charlie and his behaviour and of whom she was very rude about and completely unnecessary. I explained that we only wanted what was best for the dog and to get him back into an environment he would happy with. The women who answered the phone was a terrible intimidating women who should with her attitude should not be answering the phone. i am not easily upset abd she upset me a great deal. . I rang again as I forgot to ask her name and this time a man answered who as much as called me a liar saying there was nobody there who would talk down in such an aggressive manner to me. I did not make it up.
