12th century church next to the nearby castle, which although redundant is open. Next to the main building is a detached 14th century bell tower. There is a Knights Templar chapel within the church plus a mainly Georgian interior. There are 17th century box pews throughout the nave and aisle. This is a very special place; the plain, simple interior gives effortless beauty to the church and imbues the building with real atmosphere. Alongside the castle this is a site that really should be visited; it's off the beaten track, but is full of history and allows you to conjure up images of a rich medieval past.
