I bought a Penrose alpaca duvet more than 10 years ago after reading a good review in the Sunday Times. I contacted Penrose to ask if they could refresh my kingsize duvet and change it to a standard double one. They replied promptly asking me to pack up my duvet for collection. A few days later they called me to say that I had one of their early duvets and that, over the years, they have improved the design of their duvets and so they would like to send me a brand new double alpaca duvet free of charge. I must commend them on their impeccable service and the quality of their duvets. I'd also like to say that all the advertising blurb is completely true. I use only this one duvet throughout the year come frost or heat wave. What a brilliant company, so glad I read about them all those years ago.

Lovely stuff! Alpaca bedding is extremely comfortable, making it harder to get out in the morning. Great service from Denise. Customisable amounts of filling if you feel the cold or like a firm/soft pillow. Bedding does have a natural odor, which I personally quite like, but apparently it goes and goes even quicker if you air it outside.

After years of being too hot or too cold under various 'tog' rated duvets, I first discovered the qualities of wool a few years ago. Having recently decided a bedding upgrade was well overdue, I started my search for the best wool duvet available and discovered alpaca. (Google to the rescue). Penrose products stood out, being stocked in Harrods is a bit of a clue of the quality. I bought a duvet, mattress topper, 2 pillows and a full set of protectors. Definitely a considered purchase but absolutely worth every penny. I have just had THE BEST nights sleep in years. Not only is the temperature regulation amazing, meaning I no longer wake up 2 or 3 times in the middle of the night with a sweaty pillow, but the weight is just right, light enough to move freely around the bed but heavy enough to feel snuggled up and cozy. Laying in my bed now feels like being sandwiched between 2 slices of perfection. The quality and attention to detail, even down to the bags my Penrose bedding arrived in, is second to none. Proof that mother nature really does provide everything we need, it's just up to us to work out how to best use it. Is it comfortable? Oh most definitely! Is it cheap? Definitely not! Is it worth it? Without a doubt. I don't think I have ever been happier with anything I have bought. Worth every penny.
