A traditional farmhouse stay at Rendham Hall over a July weekend reinforced what we had read previously about this charming early 18th century house. Tucked away in the quiet of the Suffolk countryside on a working dairy farm, it offers comfortable, well-proportioned and -equipped rooms at reasonable prices. Generous 'full English' breakfasts using locally-sourced products are the order of the day in the dining room each morning supported by a range of cereals, fruits and delicious yoghurts. The owners are friendly and supportive and a mine of information on the surrounding area. Reading the Sunday newspapers at a little table on decking overlooking a duck pond in the grounds, we realised how lucky were were to have found as likeable and well-run a 'community within a community' as Rendham Hall is to its guests.
