Comfortable accommodation with good access to Yorkshire Dales. Lots of notes for dos and don't in the house and a strict departure requirement- which with an early departure time added stress to the last morning. But the house is well equipped and we enjoyed our stay. The village is quiet with one pub which is adequate, with another pub in Carperby. No corner shops and nearest supermarket ~ 4 miles away. If walking is your thing there are lots of local walks on the door step so you can leave the car at home..and with wall to wall sunshine we enjoyed our week.

The cottage has what you need for your holiday. The kitchen is well equipped and has what you need need all your cooking needs. If you need beakers or plastic bowls for a baby make sure you bring your own. The snug room is useful for the children to be able to play in. The bedrooms where large and comfortable and towels provided. The conservatory was dark and cold due to the over grown tree in the garden. The garden was not secure for dogs so you need to take them on a lead. The large wooden gate was not secure my mum dropped it on her foot and she injured it. They charged us an extra 100 at the end of our stay. So you need to be perfect guests to stay here . The house is OK, in a beautiful part of Yorkshire but after a fall out with the owners we won't be staying again. I hope you all enjoy your holiday better than we did.

been several times to this particular cottage, 6 or 7 times or more, have always had holidays in the Dales 4-5 times a year, but once we found this we have made it "our holiday home", and will always be back.. Well described as roomy for several adults, not the "one or two can sleep on the sofa.!!" And there IS a garden, one reviewer obviously didn't know of the tree lined private garden close by.. Also the pub does great meals.. Best tip?? do an on-line grocery order from your major store and get it delivered as you arrive! saves a lot of time. Just re-read my review from a year ago.. have to now update this as we are now barred from bringing our pet cat as he is allegedly causing damage to furniture.. what disappoints me on this is when we have arrived previously the house still had a smell of dogs, which we never reported as it would dissipate in a day or two. but moreover when I read other reviews I see the owner had replied to OTHER reviews who did NOT describe the house as well appointed as we did, but others got a thanks.. so this really was a sore point. maybe if you smash a TV as they claimed a previous let had you may get a return?? (BTW, our cat had his own scratch post but does not scratch furniture.. so I can only assume it has been from another animal.. )
