One of those old fillings was very deep (something Z Kubheka didn't know about-because she didnt take x-rays) and she just drilled it out from a healthy tooth, causing irreversible pulpits. This caused me no end of problems: not only physical but mental as well. To make matters worse, the people at the surgery: Margaret Ledger and Sarah Marsden were of no help at all. Quite the opposite, I think they failed me massively. They tried to convince me that the irreversible pulpits was a "new thing" and not related to the drilling I received from Z Kubheka:( After getting a second opinion from a different dentist who confirmed that I needed an endodontic specialist, because my roots were calcified, I asked Sarah Marsden to refer me to an NHS endodontic specialist for a root canal treatment. Something she didn't do.
When I complained, Sarah Marsden sent me a letter:
"To be perfectly honest, I feel very uncomfortable undertaking the treatment you have requested while you are making a formal complaint of negligence toward one of my colleagues.
I do not think it is appropriate." She left me injured and without any help!
After my renewed pleas she referred me to a private clinic in Reigate after 5 months from the injury. This place destroyed my tooth and traumatized me beyond description!
My advice to you is, if you must go to this place: DONT let them rush you, make sure that they do X-rays! Because in my 10 years there, only one dentist bothered. My treatments were scheduled for 15 minutes per tooth and were always running late. This place has that atmosphere of rush about it, doesnt it? You have to call 10 times to get through, there is always mad rush and then you are expected to believe that you developed irreversible pulpitis not because a dentist drilled out 2/3 of your tooth for no good reason at all.
If a dentist rushes: they are not a good dentist!! Also if they stopped tricking people into having endless and x-ray-less (in my case) check-ups they would have enough time to do proper treatments.
