Upright Construction (South East)

Exercise caution if using this company. Communication is poor. Not willing to come back and rectify a sub standard job on garden lights which are not now fit for purpose.I'm always keen to use local and independent businesses but not if the follow up is this bad and unprofessional. UPDATE re garden lights supplied and fitted by Upright Electrical, a different private electrician came to rectify the faults, found some lighting was not even earthed and many wrong parts used ... so not only not fit for purpose but also dangerous. Cost quite a bit to make safe and make them work. Avoid this company.

Recently finished a large double-story extension and full refurbishment throughout the existing property and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Upright. From the start we received a comprehensive, detailed and easy to understand quote, then a fully professional service. Even with the challenges of COVID and material shortages Upright managed to bring in the project on-time and on budget. Great work all round!

I havent personally had any building work done by this company but I have had to put up with their lack of boundaries. On too many occasions their loud builders have been setting up building site, running cement mixers with bricks in at 06.45, lorries turning up at the same time, most weekends they start between 0700-0800 and no escape from noise on a bank holiday either. Over eight months of having to put up with excessive noise, spoke and met with owners several times, but nothing changes. I couldnt recommend this company if you want to stay on friendly terms with your neighbours. Im amazed it has taken so long to build considering they are here hours before legally allowed, nearly 9 months in and no end in sight!

Working with Upright has been great and we are delighted with our new extension. Right from the start we were kept informed at all stages on progress and escalations. We were made to feel valued as clients and the whole team were easy to deal with; biggest credit we can give them was they made the build process as stress free as possible! The work Upright have done has transformed our house into a large family home and the finish is first class; also managing to get our build under the initial budget! We wouldnt hesitate to recommend Upright to our family & friends (we have already done so).
