Went in today in search of a leather jacket, I walked to the back of the shop, and spotted multiple leather jackets hanging up. As I'd walked to the back of the shop I passed an employee leaning on one of the clothes rails, she really didn't look very happy and deffinitly did not want to be there. (a lady, short dark hair and glasses) I didn't catch a name. I turned to her and asked politely "excuse me, are these for sale?" pointing to the jackets.. To which with a huff she replied "no, no they are not for sale" and looked away again.. The tone of her voice was nasty, very nasty.. I dont usually write reviews, but the way this lady spoke to me angered me. If that's the type of customer service your going to expect in this shop I wouldn't bother.. I know I won't in future. Such a shame that people with nasty attitudes ruin the reputation of such a lovely charity.

I would leave a minus star if l could. After struggling to leave the house with my 4 month old baby l decided to go to the primrose hospice and look for some summer dresses. This was this afternoon at around 2pm on a Friday. The staff (4 members) watched us struggle into the shop and offered no help. We were then watched the whole way round the shop. I picked out lots of dresses l wanted to try on as when shopping with a young baby you need to be time efficient. We made our way to the changing cubicle and various members of staff started flying round saying I had more than the permitted 3 items of clothing allowed. I was bemused as normally a member of staff would just offer to hand you the garments 3 at a time to try on. This wasn't offered. Eventually the staff established that the garments could be hung in full view on the cubicle rail while I tried them on. Phew!!! As l was manouvering my baby's pushchair into the cubicle and taking my top off, the curtain swung open unannounced and a member of staff, staring at me started counting the garments, wacking my baby in the face with each one!! She then started counting the garments even though they were in her full view. I tried the dresses but due to my post baby figure none of them fit. My baby was beginning to get upset so after getting changed l lifted him out of his buggy. I let a staff member know that I wouldn't be taking the dresses as they didn't fit and offered to put them back. She instructed a male staff member to put the garments back. Due to the very strange way l had been treated, l decided not to browse around the rest of the shop, so after looking at the baby section we went to leave. I was actually offered some help this time with the door from the male member of staff, for which l was very grateful. I then heard the woman serving behind the till say to another member of staff 'is that the woman who had all the dresses'? The whole shop froze and the member of staff who had begun opening the door for us stopped. At no point did he explain that he'd just put all the garments back. No one said a word so in the end I said 'ls there a problem?' this was met with more staring and then ' we wondered what happened with the dresses?' again, no response from other members of staff who had just hung them back up. The woman behind the till even appeared to get on her tip toes and look towards the bottom of my pram ( which was empty of course.) At this point my bewildered self got the better of me. I said ' ls there a problem, as if l wanted any of the dresses, l'd be at the counter now, paying for them, wouldn't l?' Again, the penny didn't seem to drop. I said 'ls that allright then?' to which she replied 'yes, l suppose it is, and the male member of staff then released the door. I was so upset by this point that l turned around and said to her ' There's no need to be so rude'. We then left the shop. I turned around to shake my head at the staff in disbelief as l put my baby's hood up and they all just stood there, glaring at us. We went straight home as l was very shocked and upset at how l had been treated. I went shopping there a couple of weeks before and the staff were lovely, there were no problems which is why I thought of going again to cheer us up after a week spent more or less at home. I have spoken to family and friends who have all advised me not to return to this store. I have made a complaint to the primrose hospice head office who assure me that it will be looked into and they will contact me to let me know the outcome. I find it absolutely disgraceful that these people think it's okay to treat someone so appallingly when they have no grounds to do so, especially this being a charity shop. My husband found us in floods of tears when he got home. Not acceptable.
