Optimax in Reading were brilliant and I am so glad I went ahead with Lasik eye surgery. My results are just amazing so far. I am only wondering why I didnt do this sooner. Optimax were much cheaper than competitors I previously tried with, as they dont charge extra for high prescriptions and also dont charge extra for Lasik compared to Lasek like some others. The staff are so friendly and everyone clearly knows their stuff and goes out of their way to make sure youre comfortable and no question is left unanswered. This surgery has truly been life changing for me so thank you so much Optimax, Reading.

Chuffed with the results and the great level of aftercare provided. The optometrist (sorry if that's not the right job title!) is very friendly and informative. The ladies on reception are also warm and accommodating; always happy to help with any queries.

I'm 75 and had very poor vision with added astigmatisms and cateracts. Desperate to do something I contacted Optimax Reading and went along for tests, knowing they would say they couldn't do anything. The wonderful staff did no such thing. They finally convinced me that they weren't joking and they could go ahead. Surgery was arranged and carried out at Harley Street with aftercare back at Reading. I now only wear glasses at the computer and I have a completely new freedom and ability to see the world properly for the first time in my life. One complaint : where were Optimax 70 years ago? One regret: now that I have been signed off I will miss the wonderful staff at Reading.

Spent a couple of minutes waiting to be buzzed in. I waited patiently, but the lady at reception named Isabel completely ignored the fact the buzzer was ringing. I was at the door and she just sat down at the desk. Others that were waiting didn't get up which I understand. It wasn't until someone voiced I was waiting, she bothered to get up and buzz me in. She actually laughed her apology and said nothing further. A stark contrast to when a non coloured person walked in, she was straight at the buzzer within a millisecond. A mistake is fine but to clearly display it wasn't with the next entry shows the proof of racism. If the door was unlocked all day no indication was given. I would not need to be buzzed in if it was open and the person who entered after me would not have been buzzed in. The response says it all, not only are you hinting at stupidity, you are completely denying there was any wrong doing. I have been visiting the clinic for a year and perfectly capable of using a door if it's open Where did I state the next person entered immediately it was a good 20 minutes later and he did not try the door, he buzzed. Great cover upbecause that receptionist didn't even greet me or ask me anything, completely blanked me and upon exit she should have stated, no need to buzz yourself in or out as the door is unlocked today. However she didn't and I can tell you why because the door wasn't unlocked.
