I started guitar lessons as a complete beginner. Thanks to James my ability and confidence have developed quickly. He is a very experienced musician and an excellent teacher. We consider James Music School a wonderful place for our daughter to learn guitar. James Schofield is a very calm, encouraging, discipline and detail oriented teacher. The teaching environment is very professional, with a dedicated room, instructional material on the walls, and space for parents to sit comfortably away from the tuition and observe. The pace of learning is entirely geared towards the pupil, and James makes learning an enjoyable and educational experience. The dedicated parking on his drive, the clear instructions on his website, blog, and youtube channel make things very modern device friendly. Highly recommended.

James is an extremely knowledgeable teacher who has helped me so much with my playing over the past few years. I would have never thought I would be able to achieve as much as I have through playing guitar, and most of that is down to James's guidance. He is able to play anything you want to learn and make each lesson thoroughly enjoyable, and is always able to answer any questions. In addition, one of the (many) great things about James's lessons are his annual student concerts, where you are able to gain experience of playing in a real band and perform in front of an audience. Thanks again James :)

Our son has been having lessons with James for just over a year now and really enjoys them. They are a fun half hour in which James chooses to teach a wide variety of music from contemporary to old rock classics which our son loves. James is an excellent teacher, relaxed but with great expectation that his students will become confident musicians under his guidance! James organises an annual performance where students get to play with his band, and this is a great confidence booster for them and a fun evening for all. We would thoroughly recommend JS Music school.
