I have recommended Andy to friends and wouldn't hesitate to do again.

First thing I put emphasis on was that I needed at least 1 lesson a week, preferably two, at consistent and regular times. He said he could accommodate.
Unfortunately that did not happen. I started getting text messages with excuses saying how he could not make it, having to cancel pre-agreed times. This happened again and again. I felt like my lessons were a chore to him and I was lucky to get one lesson a fortnight.
During the lessons, I found his teaching style to be quite harsh and regimented, which made me stressed, on edge, causing me make more mistakes than I otherwise would have. Not great for a beginner.
Due to the infrequent and unpredictable nature of the lessons, I decided I had to combine my lessons with an AA instructor. These were more reliable and I had two lessons a week at regular times.
When I finally had another lesson with Andrew, he was critical of my decision to get additional lessons and put me in front of an ultimatum. Either I would only get lessons with him, or he did not want to teach me. That's the point when I decided to break ties with Andrew.
Suffice to say my lessons with AA were more consistent, easy-going and I passed both my theory and practical first time with them.
Unfortunately not a massively pleasant experience with this instructor. Though I am sure there are others for whom it was more positive.
