Myself and my family have had visited both site in last four weeks. We were treated both occasions very good! My friend from army retired officer has resigned with south reading surgery. He was treated very well by a receptionist and doctor on the day. They were down to earth and professional. Although there were strict instructions to enter Building due to covid, however surgery was clean and spacious in our visit. Thank you doctor and receptionist!

I don't understand the low ratings and complaints about this surgery I have found all staff really professional and thorough I have never attended such a good practice I can only think that people who aren't being told what they want to hear are reviewing from a point of frustration. Please don't let the bad reviews put you off

One of the most hostile places I've ever been to. If you need medical attention you better going to different place. Don't be surprised if reception staff will be rude to you or nobody will be answering the phone.

I deeply regret not reading the reviews posted here before registering at this surgery, as having just registered at this practice I've immediately encountered the oft reported issues of rude and unhelpful reception staff. I phoned in attempt to make an appointment for flu and pneumococcal vaccinations. While there were legitimate reasons why it was not possible to make the appointment at this time (e.g. flu jabs for under-65s not yet received by the surgery), I do not appreciate the receptionist huffing and puffing her way through the call as though I had asked her something quite unreasonable, I very much got the impression that she really couldn't be bothered to deal with the call. I've am absolutely sick to the hind teeth of the quality of NHS provision in the Reading area and am not prepared to tolerate this sort of nonsense, so I requested that my registration be cancelled. They are attempting to insist this is not possible without registering at another practice. The problem being that I know full well that it is indeed possible, I cancelled my registration at my previous practice without registering elsewhere after I had lost faith in them. Indeed, I even received a letter from NHS central records some time back to inform me that I wasn't registered with any GP practice and advising me to do so. Further, the "welcome" pack notes that they can de-register a patient if they feel they have been abusive, so registration at another practice clearly isn't a prerequisite. In summary, my first attempt to book an appointment I have encountered a rude receptionist and been presented with lies, needless to say there will not be a second attempt to make an appointment.
