    Super complicated and unnecessary process to open an account ( letter process, sending paper bank statements - very backwards - this could all be done virtually, but no - was postal). It took at least a month before I had my account details because of the sheer amount of bureaucracy. Without warning they just closed my account because I hadn't funded it, when the issue was that I was locked out of the system - so couldn't fund it. It took an hour to get through to customer services, and I was told to open a new account. Do not waste your time

    Please don't waste your time. I applied for a fixed rate savings account. They asked for a verified copy of my passport. So I visited a solicitor who photocopied it for me and signed it to say it was me and a true copy. It was a clear copy however they have refused it saying it was not clear enough. I am not sending them my actual passport and I fail to see how the copy could not be read. The solicitor was happy with it and I recently used one just like this for identification for selling a house. Anyway it's not the end of the world if they don't want my money I shall go elsewhere. I have found other companies much easier to open online accounts with.
