Just returned from a brilliant 3 night stay in the Mallard lodge. It was the best-equipped self-catered accommodation I have ever stayed in, they really had thought of everything. I should have done a bit more research before we went as I didn't need to pack so much! I'll try to remember everything... generous amounts of tea, instant coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, plenty of toilet rolls, hand wash, shower gel/shampoo, games, books, loaf of bread, eggs, cake, Easter eggs, cling film, foil, garlic press, lemon squeezer!, baking equipment, decent salt and pepper grinders, cafetiere, lots of tea towels, cork screw - it was broken but replaced within 10 minutes of calling Selina! Children's cutlery. I will have forgotten things I'm sure! There were lots of beautiful glasses (wine glasses and champagne flutes etc) and mugs - we had some family visit us on one of the days and had more than enough. Plastic cups to use in the hot tub. The kettle had even been freshly boiled ready for our arrival! We were very lucky with the sunny weather and were able to make the most of the spacious outdoor area and playground (which we could easily see from our lodge), and use the gas BBQ as well as the large hot tub. It was a little chilly outdoors but the lodge was always toasty and warm inside. Our daughters loved the cosy bunk beds. We saw rabbits and red squirrels, walked up Green Bell (took about 3 hours), and walked into Ravenstonedale to the pubs. The weekend went too quickly!

Absolutely incredible. Fantastic place to stay. Lovely and clean. Peaceful location yet only a short walk to the village with its two pubs. The only things I would change (1) slightly larger TV in the main living room and (2) addition of a coffee machine. Beyond that it's amazing. Update January 2023. Second visit, this time staying in 'Swaledale'. Just as good as the first time. Lovely accommodation in a great location (nice walk to Ravenstonedale to visit the two pubs there etc). Again, still think a coffee machine would be a great addition.

We visit the Mallard Lodge every year around November time with our 2 pooches & we are never disappointed! Standard of the cabin is always amazing, always greeted with a freshly baked cake upon our arrival along with other necessities (eggs, milk, fresh bread etc). Refuse to even look at any other log cabins to visit! Our fur babies love it here too!
