If you are looking for a longbow created by a perfectionist artisan bowyer then look no further than Simon Taylor. I was completely new to the longbow genre of archery but discovered Simon after much research. A more knowledgeable and helpful man you could not hope to meet and his end product is perfection. On the recommendation of another club member I contacted Simon about making me a new longbow. He was very helpful & has now made me a bow which looks good, feels good & shots good. I am very pleased with it. After showing it to my coach he is seriously thinking about ordering one for his wife's birthday present. Overall a very pleasant experience.

I've never had a longbow before, I've always shot recurve or a horsebow. I'd been looking for a while on saw some of Simon's work online. I reached out to him on messenger and told him what I was after and he gave me a lot of nice options. Eventually I decided on a 45lb bow made of Paduak, Purple heart with a bamboo backing. The arrow pass would be paua shell with a brown suede grip and brown string, and black horn nocks. Simon kept me informed along the way and the bow was fully completed and delivered ahead of time. The finish and quality of work is fabulous, and the bow shoots amazing, very quick feels well balanced with no discernable hand shock . If you're thinking of getting a longbow, have a chat with Simon and in sure he'll craft you something special too.

My new longbow from Simon shoots nicely, it has a gentle recurve when unstrung, draws smoothly without stacking and has a good point of aim at the longer distances. The woods, nocks, and other details were chosen, before it was made. The bow is a fine piece of craftsmanship.

Simon made a longbow for my husband to accommodate his longer draw length. It is beautiful, exceptionally high quality and my husband says it shoots very smoothly. He is very happy with it and we would highly recommend Taylor Made Longbows.
