Having just visited Emery Walker's House, which blew us away, it made sense to walk five minutes down the road to the William Morris Society. We didn't really know what to expect, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The exhibition about the Kelmscott Press was fascinating, and to actually see one of the original printing presses was extraordinary. To be able to leaf through the facsimile of the Chaucer book was wonderful. Finally, the gift shop was irresistible. For any William Morris fan, this place is well worth a visit.

Small museum about printing and William Morris (1834-96) and his contemporaries. Beautifully illustrated books are on display, and an original press and demonstration video. Gift shop on site. Free entry, but donations very welcome. Current hours are 2-5 pm, Thu, Sat, Sun. A good place to combine with a tour of nearby Emery Walker House.

What a charming museum, open on limited times and days. Enthusiastic volunteers will inform and educate. Loved the Chaucer book.
