Crown Dry Cleaners

My family had been using this service for 35 years. Initially I wasnt going to post about our horrible experience with Crowns a couple years ago. But after hearing that my Father helped them with their lease 8/10 years ago I felt compelled to write on here. I went to Crowns to get my shoes repaired and was met with verbal abuse following my upset over the job they had done. The shoe was not repaired to a standard worth the price, and when I politely complained about the state it was in, I was met by a young(ish) woman with long black hair who was honestly appalling to me. She shouted at me and told me to leave the store despite me asking for the shoe to be mended again to a better standard. She refused to fix it again for me despite me telling her I had visited this place as a child. I usually wouldnt care enough to write on here and leave a review, but the treatment I received was enough for our family to NEVER VISIT AGAIN. We have no returned to that store since that time a couple years ago, despite us going there for 30 odd years. The only reason I have left a review today is because I found out recently that my Father kindly (and for free might I add) helped the family owners of this business with their lease a while ago, and went out of his way to help them in a time of need. To think that this woman/daughter (or whoever was at work at the time) was rude to me in such a way despite the kindness of my family to hers all these years, made me compelled to write on here. I want to address this review to the young woman working there when she was rude to me about my boots; You broke the family tie and connection of respect that had been cemented over 30 years in an instant by being so rude to me. We will never come back again after that experience and we couldnt be prouder to have left. We now use Nil Dry Cleaners up the road and we highly recommend them. Service: Alterations

They just make up prices as they go along! Ive been using these guys for about 4 years and Ive not had any problems with the way they clean my clothes. However, their price system always seems a little off to me... took a couple of jumpers in once and the whole bill came to about 5, bargain right! Then I went back with one of the same jumpers, 5.50. They also only take cash, another sign of how they can swindle the prices. When I asked upon collection of said jumped how it was now almost the same price for one, she immediately got very defensive, a classic sign of lying, and started to tell me shed never charged that much for anything and that I must have been confusing them with another dry cleaners... I wish this were true. I then explains to her that I wasnt mistaken and it had indeed been in this establishment and she got all defensive again and told me she had to wash it twice, well, well done for doing your job I guess, also, had your pre for seen in your crystal ball that it would need washing twice? Hence the price? All very odd. Her intonation was also going up at the end of sentences, another tell tale sign of lying. I will not be going back to this establishment and giving them anymore of my money until a proper price list is set in place in store.

First time costumer and so happy about the result! This guys fixed my favourite jacket giving me at least another year to use it. Faux leather black jacket, falling apart around front pockets area and thanks to their great job looking fabulous again. Thank you!

these people are untrustworthy. they'd decieve their own son if given the chance, i don't see why anyone would be willing to trust them with their costly clothes, house and car keys, etc
