Firstly there were some positives : the initial meeting with Kelly, she was lovely, engaging, enthusiastic, threw out a couple of amazing ideas that I'd never considered & promised we'd get plenty of food for thought for our project so we decided to go with Blueprint Architectural Design. And the site survey followed on schedule soon after - a great start! The negatives: Subsequent timelines weren't adhered to - our initial plans were sent out roughly 4 weeks later than expected after we had to chase. The communication throughout was done remotely, by email with our assigned technician, aside from one meeting I requested where we saw Kelly again. A more F2F collaborative approach would have been much better for us, especially for such a big project. The initial 2 plans drawn for choice were essentially my hand-drawn designs made professional and another with the suggestion of the kitchen units at the opposite side of the room to the pantry and a fire feature in the middle of the room despite us having a 3 yr old. Not exactly the food for thought I was hoping for. Subsequent plans were based on my research & ideas. I spent hours upon hours of work on these, it was super stressful. I had to ask for feedback on practicality/feasibility or for any opinion from our technician. I'm not sure if they were understaffed & didn't have the time to put the thought in? I raised these issues with one of the girls in the office & Kelly tried to call me back and then wasn't available on the few occasions when I tried to reach her. Again, it went back to email communications, which didn't help to address these issues, though granted she did then get things pushed through to a final draft quite quickly. Planning was refused (this was expected as we were taking a chance on roof design). However it was also refused for a number of other factors...over-development, poor design, none of which were highlighted to us as potential issues during the design process. After this we terminated the contract to continue. They've since emailed to say they had given us lots of design ideas but honestly, I understand they would want to defend their company however, I genuinely have no idea what these ideas were. I'm tired from doing all the heavy lifting. We've had more ideas from our new team in a 90 minute F2F meeting than we did in almost a year with these guys. Giving 2 stars as they might be ok for smaller projects in Northamptonshire? They are nice people, they just didn't deliver what we needed. Important to note: If you need an actual architect make sure they're registered on the architects registration board. Do your research.

Brilliant, finally somebody who actually listens to what we want to do and comes up with excellent practical suggestions. During an informative site visit the Architect provided some wonderful suggestions, timeframes and outline costings. Just what we actually needed. We look forward to fully engaging with the team, including a very switched-on administrator who has been keenly keeping tabs on the progress and updating us with every step. Well done!
