A 'must visit' if you're in the area. Clearly a lot of history associated with the pub and location to be appreciated. We visited on the BH and it was very busy, as it often can be. We only stopped for drinks and the wait wasn't too long, but be aware that at times there can be a queue for the bar. I had a local Cotswold ale and my wife had a liqueur coffee, both of which were very nice.

Booked a week ago to drop in after a walk around the historic battleground. Super busy, so glad we booked, and from start to finish a fabulous experience. Great Sunday lunch and meat cooked to perfection. Very attentive staff and a sticky toffee that was in my top 10. Im fussy. All in a great meal, cant wait to go again. Loses a point for the small car park that was full of cars that did not seem to belong to people in the pub making street parking the only option, leading to a few grumpy stares from residents.
