I bought an Ikawa roaster with the hopes of developing different roasts and learning more about the roasting process. It was only after purchasing and receiving the roaster that I found out you have to pay 30 per month to be able to customise the roast graph and fan speeds which is not mentioned up front and really requires some digging on the website to find this out, meaning that this will be a shock for most people. I have had a number of roasts where the beans will not spin as it appears the fan speed is too low and there is no way for me to fix this without having to pay 30 per month which I am not willing to do as it seems an extortionate amount of money just to be able to edit a graph, a feature which I cannot believe is not included in the purchase of the roaster.

Ive always loved my coffee and the main part for me is the coffee beans. We have all bought bad quality burnt beans and regretted it, with Ikawa you are fully In control of the process, I love how easy the machine is to use and it gives stunning results each time. Once you have started roasting your own coffee you wont go back to shop bought beans. I also really enjoy using ikawa green beans as you get a fantastic back story about them, coupled with a simple QR code that makes it a doddle to roast. Yes the initial cost of the machine is expensive but in my opinion its worth every penny, plus points that its designed and built in London which is a rare thing these days.

Once you have started roasting your own coffee you wont go back to shop bought beans.
