I did the Winter Workshop with George and it was an extremely helpful process. He immediately identified our needs and provided simple and clever design solutions whilst taking into consideration our budget and personal tastes. More importantly, he identified clear practical next steps we could take to start our project - making the process feel less daunting. When it comes to knocking down walls in a perfectly sound home, were not the type of people to take it lightly. But by going through Bradley Van Der Straeten Architects, all our fears were allayed. Ewald not only scheduled face to face meetings (with the option of online ones) but was always at the end of the line, and there to answer and discuss any issues. His proposed plans were stylish and imaginative but he never tried to push us into accepting one or the other, but was most concerned that we had the kitchen of our dreams. And we now do! This was an incredibly painless process, and was conducted in the warmest and most professional way, and were so grateful. If we had to do it all over again, we would not go anywhere else!

We enlisted help from BVDS to give us advice on how to redesign the ground floor of our house and also to advise on how best we could add a loft extension. The initial work all happened in lockdown so the first meetings were on Zoom. Ewald was really enthusiastic about the project and very flexible and helpful on the zoom meetings. He was very approachable and full of ideas which he was happy to discuss with us and re-work in accordance with our ideas. We were very impressed with his initial designs as he had managed to get a really good appreciation of our house and how it could be re-worked. Ewald designed our ground floor and came up with numerous very special features which we loved. BVDS handled the tendering for builders and the work was carried out by Optimal Build. We were also very happy with the work that the builders carried out on our behalf. Throughout the process, Ewald and Stephen were approachable, helpful, innovative and always respectful of what we wanted to achieve. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. We also had advice on colour schemes which were bolder than we would have chosen on our own but we are delighted with the new colourful look of our house. We moved back in and we are discovering new new joys each day. We love the unique features that Ewald designed. All the friends who have come to see the house have been blown away by changes we have made. We feel that we have moved into a new house with space which has been completely transformed. We could not recommend BVDS highly enough.
