I am writing on behalf of one of my residents in a private retirement home that I manage
Mrs .. is in her eighties and cares for a husband who is in poor health noticed what appeared to be water damage to her ceiling. She phoned your company Pro-Improve as she thought she should have a plumber come and investigate before it got worse.
A plumber did come and attend who was foreign and difficult to understand. He ascertained that the water damage to her ceiling was coming from the flat above number 34. He went to this flat and after a brief investigation he informed the resident in flat 34 that there was a problem with her toilet system and would require replacing which would be very costly, this obviously worried the resident not only about the expense but the damage it was causing to the flat below.
Your plumber returned to see Mrs... who informed of the cause and had told the resident above her that she required a new toilet system in order to fix the water damage. He then charged 110 plus VAT for this call out although he did absolutely nothing and was on site less than 10 minutes in total.
Since your plumbers visit the resident in flat 34 called out another plumber as she was worried about the situation. This plumber investigated the problem in a lot of detail and found that the water damage was being caused by the shower base which just needed sealant around the base which he did and the problem was fixed.
I firmly believe that your plumber did not take the time to investigate the problem properly and saw an opportunity to take advantage of these 2 elderly people who he frightened and quite frankly this is very concerning,
In view of your Plumber being very in-apt at his job and actually giving the incorrect diagnosis pertaining to actually where the water damage was coming from I strongly feel that the outrageous call-out charge sounds be refunded.
