The Old Granary exceeded all my (high) expectations. It is lovely in a way that was hard to imagine. The house is surrounded by the most beautiful and private hills, views (to the sea), woods, streams, dotted with cows, horses, and sheep. The most spectacular walks in the area were right out of the house, to ponies and berry picking, and even more spectacular views. Perhaps what made it really special were Pete and Janet. They were lovely! And included us parents and the kids in all manner of adventures. In the mornings the kids fed the lambs, in the afternoons they played with Moss the dog and pet Dusk the horse. In fact, not only are the humans at the Old Granary Cottage unusually kind, the animals were unusually friendly. I read reviews of people saying they would return to the Old Granary Cottage year after year, and thought they were a bit silly - why would you go back to the same house with so many beautiful places in the country (and the world!)? But now I get it - Im looking forward to returning next summer, wish I could return now!
