Fitted a salvaged 9 speed cassette and chain to a bike with 8 speed shifters. Didn't mention what he'd done, so I didn't realise that the largest sprocket was dead weight and the indexing all out. It's not like he even fitted a quick link to the second hand chain and unsurprisingly the chain broke soon after. I asked for a longer seat post and he did a straight swap, my nice Dawes seat post for a longer generic one. My saddle rail broke and it was almost impossible to remove, the soft alloy bolt was so overtorqued, in the end I had to break the other rail and use a punch to get the rails out. He is not interested in customer service. He would not service disk brakes. He would not service a coil fork. He charged quite a lot for bad work and mismatched parts that he fished out of his scrap bin. I mean... Just fit a new KMC chain, I told you I was going on a tour... they're like 7. Strange.

Despite it being a small shop, I've always been able to source what I needed. Every product I have purchased there is good quality. I don't mind having a smaller selection if what I end up with works. I've also been in for a few services now and have never been disappointed.
