Brilliant instructors who know their stuff, they come from a varied martial arts background which is great as it gives lots of different perspectives on both sport fighting and self defence. Everyone is incredibly friendly and accommodating, making you feel like part of the group straight away.

Tough work outs at the beginning of the class followed by range of martial arts and defense styles, awesome! And the guys there are a good laugh too :-) I always enjoy coming back.

Ive been training at Bournemouth Instinctive Martial Arts for around 5 years, I have done Judo, Karate and Mu-Tai in the past but never stuck it out due to the lessons becoming too samey and eventually boring. Sifu Steve gives varied lessons ranging from learning to use and defend against weapons, different types of sport fighting and real self defence which could save your life. The warm-ups are good and I went from having high cholesterol and blood pressure to getting back to where I was healthy again; all down to Steves training and nutrition advice. If you are not afraid to push yourself and want to learn a lot of martial arts (Steve covers many systems) as well as make new friends; come and give it a go.

I've been training at Bournemouth Instinctive Martial Arts for nearly 5 years now, and I have to say, it's the best thing I've done. Before I joined I was just a regular gym person, hitting the weights and doing some cardio. I found myself getting bored and wanting something more intense and functional.....something that I could learn and be of use to me throughout my life.........Instinctive Martial Arts has certainly given me that! Before now I had no experience in any forms of fighting or self defence. Sifu Steven's System covers a broad range of martial arts, all of which are applicable to protecting yourself. The lessons are tough and you do get an incredible workout. I have also made a great group of friends along the way. Sifu Steven has taught me an incredible amount over the years....something that I will be forever grateful for.

I first met Steve Davidson of Bournemouth Instinctive Martial Arts 5 years ago when I was 67 having never really done any martial arts before. At the time I was in a sorry state, being overweight, very unfit, and at a low morale ebb, having just lost my wife. Thanks to Steve's excellent and varied training I am now fighting fit, mentally and physically and I have improved my skills and attitude to life in a way that I would never have thought possible.
