marvellous 16c building at the top of the beach road with fabulous sea and countryside views. The food is good and the rooms well cleaned and cared for but that's not what makes this hotel special. The manager "Steve" is brilliant and just like certain football managers, brings the best of people he's worked with him. Staff stop and chat with genuine friendliness and nothing is too much trouble, it's a very happy place to be and will become one of the few places that we'll return to again and again. Walkability: Great coastal walks on the South West Coast Path. Only a ten minute stroll to Chesil Beach. Check out Robs Hampshire Pub Walks Facebook page for a short walk direct from the hotel.

What a lovely hidden gem. The building itself is in great condition for its age and the fact it is a listed building, the spirit and character of the building is well maintained. The service is lovely, welcoming and friendly. You are well looked after here. The location is brilliant, any time of year. A short walk down to the beach to enjoy a stroll anytime of day

Brilliant hotel, warm welcome when we arrived and we were shown to room 1 which had a lovely view across the lawn and down to the sea. Beautiful spot, seeing the sun rise and set & seeing the moon shimmering over the sea in the dead of night was incredible. Room was amazing, clean and bright & bed was extremely comfy. TV was great in the room too .. Tea & coffee was on hand in the room, plus fresh milk in the a small fridge in the hallway. Very old building which is really looked after & tastefully modernised. Comfy lounge to watch TV if needed. Great bar and the food was amazing. Everything we had on both nights we were there was incredible, cooked to perfection, piping hot & served by lovely staff. Desserts were a tiny bit of await due to the cooking of the crumble but wow it was worth it salted caramel apple crumble Parking is easy and the beach is just a 5 minute walk away. Wed definitely recommend this hotel and well definitely stay there again. Thank you to all the staff.
