Short House Chesil Beach

The Short House is a real gem! The location is simply stunning, with the peaceful beach a few minutes walk from the property and the most amazing sunsets every evening. The approach to the properties (the owner's property is adjacent to The Short House), and grounds have an Italian influence. The property is charming. It has elegantly eclectic furnishings and it was spotlessly clean. There was plenty of space for the dog to run around but just a note of caution that the terrace and lawn area aren't entirely enclosed. Andrew - the owner- was most welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. There is much to explore in the locality including some excellent dog friendly eateries serving locally sourced produce. The only downside to this holiday was having to leave! I will definitely return!

Just returned early from a week booked at the Short House, Chesil Beach. Very disappoined with the property - it was tired, dilapidated and in need of a thorough make over. All furniture has seen better days and in desperate need of renewing. Beds were fairly comfortable though. It was the outside that was most disappointing - everywhere needed mowing and weeding. The pictures on the website do not reflect what is actually there, and the falling down garage buildings right outside the front door are conveniently omitted. There is no privacy from the owners house with the terrace totally overlooked. There were workmen constantly doing construction work to the grounds right next the the property with big machinery. We had to keep the curtains closed all the time to maintain some sort of privacy! Not the peaceful week I expected.. Definitely not five star, with the only positive being the view of Chesil Beach.
