Sales team couldn't care less. Take ages to reply, ignore phone calls...nice looking houses but there have been a LOT of issues here

Disgraceful customer service and a blatant disregard for basic health and safety ,why doesn't the government shut down cowboy operations like this? Too much back hand money would be my guess .

**Major concern - they use a different, more premium contractor for the show homes, surely this is against trading standards? ** Quality of the finish is terrible, contracts manager just doesn't care and I have been told by staff that they like to cut corners (ie, covering up problems instead of rectifying them). House is not air tight or water tight, we have had countless water issues - flooding due to the pipes under the ground not being connected, we have water coming through the doors and windows (it is winter and this is only going to get worse). Our heating bills are going through the roof due to the drafts. We believe the house isn't insulated properly due to the coldness in some of the rooms. We have damp coming through brick, which after nearly a year of mentioning still hasn't been rectified. Tiling company is a disgrace, we paid for full tile and the quality is terrible. We have had 11+ windows replaced due to deep scratches, we have had 3 kitchen sinks due to damage (and the replacement came damaged too). Bifold doors were damaged and dented, (also now letting water in). Our kitchen ceiling had a massive hump. The end caps were missing on our vanity tops and they sent someone in who made it look worse and also damaged our vanity tops in the process (still not rectified). This company does not care. They create more botched jobs when trying to cover up their botched jobs. Do not recommend, avoid the unnecessary stress! EDIT: It's now May 2022, we have been in 14months. They replaced the old bifold doors, which we were told by the company were substandard quality. The new one is much sturdier, but it has a dent, the panes of glass are covered in deep scratches, there are parts snapped off and missing. They haven't peeled off the plastic and have smeared silicone over it, so now the plastic is peeling behind the silicone. Are there no quality assurance checks? does anyone actually bother taking pride in what they do? NOTHING has been done about the tiling, they remain chipped and feathered. Someone came in to supposedly fix the grouting, but instead of re-doing the grout just used their finger to try cover the parts that were discoloured. It is now worse. They used a different colour completely, we now have white, grey and brown grout. What you see in the show homes is completely different to what you receive. Hump remains in the kitchen ceiling. We also did end up spending the entire winter in a house with drafts coming through the vents upstairs and the loft hatch. After winter passed they sealed in the doors which were letting in water. Also one of gentoo's staff tried to blame the draft on the fact that we kept the door shut? and didn't have curtains or blinds up? I mean come on. Edit, August 2022: Our outstanding issues still have not been rectified, at this point we are considering getting legal advice, or bringing in the press. We were contacted by a premium tiling company (on behalf of gentoo) in approx June 2022 to rectify our tiling issues in the WC, ensuite and bathroom, they said due to issues ALL THE TILING NEEDS REPLACED. They said gentoo used them for the show homes but were considered 'too expensive' to be used site-wide. Buy cheap, buy twice. We have contacted customer care to have all outstanding issues sorted and have the tiling organised to be replaced by the premium company. We are yet to hear from gentoo. 17 months in...... still not sorted. EDIT- OCT 22: We are being completely ignored (as are others on the site who have major issues). Nothing has been rectified.
