Lovely quiet no nonsense pub set back from the river. Great for tasty honest food if visiting local sights, as there's not much else around. Friendly staff too.

We were in here about an hour ago. Decent staff Decent fresh pizza and nachos with orange and pint of grolsch ! Recommend for sure!

This feels like the kind of local where everyone will immediately recognize you're not a regular. That said, I think it is actually a mix of regulars and tourists/randoms so don't feel like you can't give it a go! The interior is quite nice in that homely pub way. They have a good pizza/pint combo deal around lunch and have plenty of options on draft, including some great ales. Bartender was friendly, chips were good, the ale was solid. I can't complain!
