I was forced to take my son out of the nursery last minute, as he was getting sick every week. I am going through a tough cancer treatment and being infected with viruses that my son brought home was putting my health at huge risk. I had no choice and asked the owner to refund the money that had been paid upfront for the last few remaining weeks. I still needed to pay for childcare with that money I am a single mum and need time to attend treatment appointments and to recover. The owner refused my request saying I did not give her enough notice. She knows my situation well, I do rely on childcare support but keeping my son in her nursery was simply too hazardous for my wellbeing as a cancer patient. I find such a behaviour uncaring and mean. How can someone in the owners position teach values and compassion to small kids if they do not practice them? I would not recommend placing your child in this nursery.

Our son attended this nursery for a year (20162017) before school. We were very, very happy with Toad Hall. Here's a few reasons we recommend: 1. The teachers are excellent, they love the kids, and they give a lot of encouragement. 2. The number of children is pretty small, which seems ideal to me when your kid is going from quiet home environment into nursery. 3. The curriculum is constantly a source of stimulation and interest for the kids. Our boy often came home telling us about the things he was learning. 4. They stretch the kids more than a typical nursery, giving them a head start with reading and writing. If you have a curious kid, that's a big benefit. We fully intend to send our other kids here. Thoroughly recommended. ***2019 Update*** Our daughter is nearing the end of her year at Toad Hall, and all the above is still true. I would only add that this nursery has been just as good for our little extroverted daughter as it was for our introverted son. Highly recommended.
