I've observed that each "work coach" does what they want. Some are more strict and others are almost not at all. So, what's that about? Are there no rules? Do they not have to follow them? Moreover, about work coaches, arent I supposed to have just one? Ive only been on UC for a month and after getting my 1st job and being told I was only going to get a call from jobcentre in 4 weeks, I immediately got another appointment with another work coach! And after that 1st appointment, I was booked the following week's appointment with yet another coach, and this one doesnt even bother to look at my work coach messages on the UC website. It's frustrating that people arent thorough in their jobs, give wrong info and in general, more often than not: unprofessional. 2nd is that I've been given wrong information about many things. Clearly wrong information, which is easily checked online on official websites. That's very unprofessional. Lastly, the UC website often is unhelpful and "complicated", in that it doesn't explain thoroughly what it's asking, with vague questions. And no way to ask about it other than asking my work coach, which at times can be unhelpful.

Does what it says on the tin. Advisors friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Not always available at the scheduled appointment, but no more than 10 minutes late. Currently working under appropriate Covid19 rules, so very few customers at time of visit. Customers seen on ground and first floor. Beware, the stairway up to first floor is, in my opinion unsafe, with unexpected smaller steps before entrance to office - a serious trip danger. Security staff are, likely unintentionally, a little intimidating as you enter the building but are friendly and helpful when approached.

Had great service from Pauline after the centre in Bolton messed up my appointment. She went out of her way to help me, and I could see she really cared, which is a refreshing change in the civil service. If Pauline isn't the manager she should be.
