Used County Groundforce for a drop kerb and new tarmac drive. Whole thing was faultless. Jim was round with a quote really quickly and once I gave the go ahead the application went into the council nearly instantly. Even when we were waiting for the application to be processed Jim was giving me regular texts to let me know what was going on. Once the permit was given the drive and kerb were done within days. Turned up on the day and time agreed and the whole job was done loads quicker than expected. The team left the place tidy and were no trouble at all when doing the work. Would highly recommend. Response to the owner's reply - you can come across all nice now, but your lies and aggressive manner, Jim, are disgraceful and completely unprofessional. Let's put some more facts here: You told me on Monday this week you could do my job on Thursday. You did not contact the council for the fast track application at all, still hadn't by yesterday (Wednesday), as confirmed to me in multiple emails by Will at the council. Who has always been brilliantly efficient and responsive, unlike anyone at County Groundforce. Your office member of staff Nicola did not call me back to take payment of the fee after your 'card reader wasn't working' on Monday. Then James also in the office had not emailed the council as you had supposedly asked him to do on Tuesday, after being given the fast track reference I had received from the council to tie together with your application - which was just never sent. So don't say you had to wait for the permit, you just didn't bother to put the application in, lied to me to get the job when you knew I wanted it done quickly and then wouldn't send me any evidence you had ever contacted the council, instead shouting over me and becoming extremely aggressive, which is why I put the phone down on you and would never deal with you - far from you telling me to get someone else, now that is a joke. I hope this factual review, the first negative one I have ever left, helps people make the correct choice about which company to use. You do indeed get what you pay for, never more so than in this case. Original review: I have been talking with this business for three days non stop about getting some urgent work completed. The manager Jim tells me one thing, clearly just to get the business. The office staff, mainly James and Nicola, tell me another. I have the actual facts in many emails from Staffs Council, and as I don't like being lied to, I will not be using this firm and absolutely do not recommend them. They look like a decent firm from their website and all their supposed accreditations but sadly they are all talk, and very rude with it. I will not accept being shouted over by an overbearing rude man, especially when he is the manager and should know better. Terrible behaviour.
