Brilliant service especially from one of the older members of staff who took time to talk to us about our holiday . Breakfast was delicious and lunch was incredible . I would suggest to ignore some of these reviews and try it as we saw people complain and then laugh coz they got another meal AND a refund which I thought was disgusting . Brilliant service !

Mash and Barrel DO NOT EAT HERE! Visited for Sunday dinner, if thats what you can call it. Absolutely shocking. Vegetables were reheated and dry, mashed potato appeared to be smash, cauliflower cheese, was just a spoonful of slop mixed with the mashed potato. Gammon could have been revived, which later that day caused one of my friends to need hospital treatment for food poisoning, the after taste of the small amount we ate was shocking. Staff argued with us. The staff seemed under trained and lacked any enthusiasm and customer service. Youngest staff member was sent over to see if everything was ok, she walked past whilst saying it giving us no time to respond, shocking! I think if EHO gave them a more recent visit theyd be closed down, kitchen staff kept walking behind the bar over the weekend we were there and tbh after seeing the conditions of who was cooking I am surprised we ate there, uniform was dirty, kept going for cigarettes, nose rubbing, etc. knock the place down and start again. Such a shame as the only other options on site are fast food and are at a good standard. It would be much healthier for you to eat Burger King, slim chicken or papa johns all weekend than eat anything here. Oh and they dont consider allergies. They ask about them, then dont listen as we received food with the allergen on the plate. Death trap. I have had to do this review on primrose valley as there is no option to do one on mash and barrel !
