Fantastic pharmacy. The staff are so friendly, helpful and will go out of their way to help you with anything. If the tablets aren't there, they will order them in for you, no problem. Wish I had discovered this great pharmacy years ago.

Update Jan 2023... I'm not sure how they did it but this pharmacy is a mess at present. The original staff I spoke highly of, all vanished one day and were replaced with a revolving door of pharmacists and dispensary staff. Towards the end of 2022 the shop underwent a make over (probably to incorporate the Numark branding on things) and I hoped this upgrade would include behind the scenes upgrades to help the staff organize themselves. Most of the prescriptions are now prepared off site if they are not 'on the day' requests. This should make it easier for the pharmacy to cope, however all it seems to have done is create a new bottleneck in a slow and disorganized team. You can sign up for the text alerts to let you know when your prescriptions are ready, my last two didn't have texts and the one before wasn't for me! The pharmacy is just full of blue crates waiting to be checked and not enough staff on hand to deal with the constant stream of people requesting items. Be prepared for a wait and check all your items are in the bag before you leave! Orig review... This Pharmacy is a very busy little store which serves quite a large area including Cottam, Ingol, Tanterton and Wychnor. It has a good range of healthcare and first aid stock, baby items, a drinks fridge, selection of lozenges/sweets as well as a small hair and beauty section. They have recently started to sell flea and worm treatments for cats/dogs/rabbits, which I imagine is useful since our closest pet superstore is on the docks. The prices are reasonable I have found it better value for certain items there than the local supermarket just up the road. Being attached to Ingol Health Centre (North Preston Medical) it often gets busy when their are clinics on and you may have to wait for your prescription (or return) just due to the number of prescriptions they are bombarded with on top of the regular/repeats they do. Since the CoVid Pandemic they have tried really hard to get people in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible, only 2 people are allowed in the store at any one time and there are screens up to protect the staff and yourself from infection. When I first started using the pharmacy I did run into teething problems but I can honestly say it wasnt the pharmacy staffs fault it was the GP next door. The electronic system used to send prescriptions isnt automatic, the staff have to refresh it, so if you think they should have your prescription, ask nicely and they will check it for you. As far as the other reviewer expressing negative experiences I can only relay what Ive witnessed. The regular pharmacist and the dispensers are really pleasant and will help if they can but they are extremely busy so dont be surprised if they cant call the GP surgery to sort out queries or spend forever discussing which nit shampoo is the best. One thing worth noting is, if the Pharmacist is on lunch the staff are not allowed (by law) to dispense medication - they can sell non prescription items but you will have to wait at least 20-30 mins for anything that needs signing off. So check before setting off on your journey to see what time lunch is on the website.

The pharmacy has had a face lift recently and it can get very busy depending when you go. Best to avoid lunchtime and around 5pm as those seem the busiest to me.
