The management of unity homes disregarded the welfare of my mum and I during the most upsetting time of our lives, and this has had a profound impact upon our wellbeing. We have lodged a complaint with the CQC and the Social care ombudsman over the aggressive attitude taken during my mums time at Highgrove house. My mum was coerced into handing over money that should have come from LCC, and whilst suffering with depression and anxiety over my mums illness, I was threatened with demands for money which has left me with worsening PTSD. During a time when we could reasonably have expected care and compassion, we instead received hostility. Unity homes have made no attempt to apologise or offer compensation for their mistakes. My mum has since moved elsewhere.

I must post my response to Some of the disgusting comments on here.My Mother and Father both stayed there before bereavement. They were there for 2 years.I have never experienced anything bad at all in those times my parents were there. Polly the manager is nice, very approachable, and will listen, with a caring attitude. All the staff are very nice, and the same staff who have been there years.occasionally one or two do leave, either to have children, retire or to gain promotion and further their careers else were. Which many establishments offer. Reading one of the comments below, from Carl is fabricated, very unfair, and totally out of order.I do recall this person has worked there a short time.and sour grapes springs to mind. I understand that every caring spouse make a huge decision to put their parents in a care home. We had to because of Dementia and caring issues. Care homes aren't cheap, and whether it cost 400 a week or a 1000 a week doesn't mean the care is any better.its down to the individual. Of course you think having gold taps, luxurious furnishings means the home must be good, but it's not true.we as a family have a lot of family who have sadly gone into care,so we do have experience in this matter.Highgrove House do a good job,it's warm, clean, nice staff and would recommend thus m Home to anyone Thank you
